Scout Sunday

The annual DCCS-DGH Scout Sunday observance is usually the first Sunday in February; check the calendar for the exact date. All Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII religious emblems are presented; so too are the Bishop Morkovsky Award and the Bishop's Trophy. Of course, families are invited and encouraged to attend!

This year's Scout Sunday awards ceremony will be held February 15, 2009 at Strake Jesuit, 8900 Bellaire Blvd, Houston (not quite 1 mile east of the West Sam Houston Tollway), beginning at 2:00 PM. His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo will be presiding. Click here for a printable PDF map.

Scouts should arrive in full uniform at the Parsley Center (click here for an aerial photograph of the campus with key buildings labeled) no later than 1:00 PM. The ceremony will likely last until 4 PM -- there are lots of awards to present!

There will be a reception following the ceremony at which cake and punch will be served.
